China Visa Application

Visa application is completed electronically: Chinese visa application online.
Have your digital photo (sample click here) ready for upload before starting the visa application.
CHI, LA, NY, and SF jurisdiction applicant: there's an additional $149 fee during checkout.

We highly recommend E-mailing the completed application to us for review (info@visahero.com) along with the following documents:

  • Digital passport photo (sample click here)
  • Passport bio-data page
  • Driver's license or utility bill
  • Most recent China visa—if any
  • Q and S visa types: letter of invitation with a copy of host's passport/ID
Business Letter From Employer

An original business letter from your U.S. employer is required (click here for sample).
This letter should clarify the trip's objectives, offer financial assurance, outline the requested travel dates and visa duration, and feature contact details for the visited organization.
This letter must articulate the purpose of the intended activities (i.e. business meetings), printed on the company's official letterhead, and signed by a company representative.

Crew ID

You must provide both the front and back copies of your Crew ID or Badge.

Proof of Residence/Address

One of the following documents must match with the residence address on your visa application (PO BOX not accepted):

  • Front and back copy of your driver's license,
  • A copy of utility bill: electric, gas, or water.

For minor applicants (under 18), proof of residence for both parents must be provided.

Original Passport

Your physical passport must maintain validity for a minimum of 6-months beyond your departure date.
A second valid, including a temporary passport, is not eligible for a China visa application.
Please note that the amendment pages located at the back of your passport are not visa pages and are not acceptable for visa issuance.
If you've run out of visa pages, please renew your passport before applying for a China visa.

Previous China Visa

If you received a Chinese visa before, please include a photocopy of that visa along with a copy of the passport's bio-data page where it is located.
If you have misplaced the passport that contained your previous visa, you must provide a signed letter of explanation, detailing the reasons for your inability to provide it (click here for sample).

Born in China

Please note that if the following requirements cannot be provided, your visa request could take months. Moreover, Consular might require an in-person meeting.

If you were born in Mainland China, please provide:

  • Your name in Chinese characters on Section 1.1D of the visa application.
  • A copy of your proof of name change (if applicable).
  • If you've received a Chinese visa: copy of most recent visa and passport it was issued in.
  • If you have never been granted a Chinese visa, provide the last Chinese passport you were issued and a copy of your U.S. naturalization certificate.

If you were born in mainland China and adopted by American parent(s), you must provide the following additional documents:

  • Notarized Adoption Letter from Court and/or any additional documents from Chinese and American Courts related to the adoption.
  • Your original Chinese Passport.
  • A copy of your birth certificate.
  • Applicants under 18: Provide copies of BOTH parents' Driver's License and U.S. Passport bio-data page.

If you were born in Hong Kong or Taiwan, you must provide the following:

  • Your name in Chinese characters on Section 1.1D of the visa application.
  • A copy of your proof of name change (if applicable).
  • If you've received a Chinese visa: copy of most recent visa and passport it was issued in.
  • Copy of your last Hong Kong SAR or Republic of China passport data page - if you are no longer in possession of your last passport, a copy of your birth certificate must be provided.
Multiple Citizenships

Please submit a copy of the passport info page of your other nationality.

Proof of U.S. Status

Non-U.S. applicants are required to submit a photocopy of their Permanent Resident Card (front and back), a valid U.S. visa, I-94, or I-20.
